Find out about Dental Bridges:
Dental bridges are fixed dental prosthetics used to replace one or more missing teeth by bridging the gap between two existing teeth or dental implants. They “bridge” the space created by the missing teeth, restoring both the appearance and functionality of the patient’s smile. A bridge is fixed, giving increased support and stability within the mouth.
Conventional Bridges:
Conventional bridges were seen as the ideal gold standard solution for filling spaces where teeth were missing. Teeth on either side of the gap are prepared (trimmed down) for crowns, impressions taken and subsequently the permanent bridge cemented into place within two weeks.
The advantages of bridges is that they feel and look like natural teeth.
Adhesive Bridges:
Another type of bridge is called an Adhesive bridge, which are glued in place by a metal wing bonded to the back of a tooth adjacent to the gap.
They are usually quick to complete and often require very minimal amount of tooth trimming. However, the wing holding the bridge in place can become loose and the bridge can fall off, which can prove quite inconvenient and unpredictable in the long run.

Are bridges expensive?
A bridge can be a wise investment that will give many years of good service. It will also improve your appearance and bite.
How do I look after my bridge?
You need to clean your bridge every day, to prevent problems such as bad breath and gum disease. You also have to clean under the false tooth every day. Your dentist or hygienist will show you how to use a special floss, as a normal toothbrush cannot reach.
