What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are one of the best ways to replace missing teeth. An Implant is planted into the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth. The Implant acts like the root of a natural tooth. Dental Implants are also used to support dentures and bridges.

Dental Implant treatment normally has 2 stages. Firstly, the implant is placed in the patient's jaw. Then, when the jaw has healed, replacement teeth are attached to the implant. In some situations it is possible for temporary teeth to be attached to an implant at the time of fitting.
